They were introducing Lucida Sans Font, a family of open-type fonts. Kris Holmes and Charles Bigelow got up to design this clean font in 1993, which was first released by Microsoft. The Microsoft Windows operating systems after the year 1998 come preinstalled with this magnificent font.

Lucida Sans is a humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Steve Matteson and commissioned by Apple Computer. It was initially released in 1989 and is one of the core fonts in the collection of OpenType fonts included with Mac OS X v10.4 and iOS operating systems. Lucida Sans is an alternative to identical but differently named typefaces such as Helvetica and Arial, and like many such alternatives, it is significantly different from its namesakes.

Lucida Sans was designed in 1994 by Charles Bigelow and Kris Holmes, Cambridge, MA., USA. As a slightly modified version of the original 1992 design, the typeface is unusually crisp and precise for extended text settings. Its relative lack of calligraphic style gives its forms a neutral, contemporary feel that fits well with the trend to less decorative character styles. Three weights are available set to our specifications, with italics added later after requests from font users.

Lucida Sans is also available in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other languages. This font family can be found in many software programs such as Adobe Photoshop. There is steady growth in the demand for this font.
